“I do extensive research to find the best deal”
Sanjeev Dudwadkar, a manager in a wireless communication firm, tells us how he saves on all big purchases, sometimes by as much as 50%, by simply doing some research.
Sanjeev Dudwadkar, 36, tells us his money-saving tips and ideas, which include doing research before making a big ticket purchase and not assuming online stores are cheapest.
What are your money-saving tricks?
Before buying, especially expensive products, I do extensive research to find the best deal. I most often locate a seller who is selling the same product at a price that is 30-50% cheaper than a showroom or a retail store.
What was the last great deal you got?
My Casio Edifice watch, which I recently from a local dealer who gave me a better discount than the online shopping portals I checked. I also purchase a Google Nexus phone from a dealer nearby at a cheap price.
Is there a product or service you don’t mind paying a premium for?
I won’t compromise on quality of food. I don’t mind paying extra for things like dark chocolates and organic food from reputed manufacturers. I also pay a premium for bikes, my glasses and t-shirts.
