Unlimited broadband plans in your city
Looking to get a truly unlimited internet plan? Read on to find which service providers are offering good speeds at reasonable prices without holding you to a Fair Usage Policy.
If you are currently using a broadband plan advertised as “unlimited” but still adhere to their circuit breakers, this one’s for you. Many plans are advertised as unlimited but actually aren’t. An Airtel Broadband plan with a price tag of Rs999 a month in Delhi, for example, is advertised as unlimited. In practice, however, it gives you speeds of 2 Mbps until you use just 9GB of data. After this, your speeds are reduced to the minimum 256kbps under the Fair Usage Policy (FUP).
There are other examples of this practice as well, as in the table below:
|ISP||Where?||Monthly charge||Speed||FUP||Speed after FUP|
|MTNL||Mumbai||Rs1,000||2 Mbps||30 GB||1 Mbps|
|Hathway||Delhi||Rs700||2 Mbps||11 GB||600 Kbps|
|Tikona||Mumbai||Rs649||1 Mbps||10 GB||512 Kbps|
|ACT||Bangalore||Rs999||15 Mbps||40 GB||512 Kbps|
|You||Bangalore||Rs1,212||12 Mbps||25 GB||1 Mbps|
A lot of internet service providers, however, offer plans with unlimited downloads without any FUP limit, although at slower speeds. We have gone through all service providers tariffs in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore and have compiled a list of their best true unlimited plans under Rs1,000 a month with no FUP limitations.
|Hathway||Rs800||1 to 3 Mbps|
|MTNL||Rs999||1 to 2 Mbps|
