Holidaying isn’t cheap business. But if you thought a summer holiday would be expensive, think again. We’ve lined up a few deals this summer, some of which even cover meals in addition to hotel stay. A trek to Malshej Ghat stands out at the cheap end of the spectrum although you’ll have to plan you activities, while a trip to Sikkim from Travel Mart India is the most expensive package here at Rs13,800 per person.
Andaman & Nicobar
With its beautiful beaches and scenic landscape, these islands find a place on the must-visit list of many. This summer, you can head there without emptying your bank account. Goibibo is offering a five-night package that costs Rs9,999 per person. The trip is divided into three nights at Port Blair and two nights at Havelock. The package accounts for stay at 3-star hotels, buffet breakfast, a non a/c vehicle for travel and sightseeing as well as the price for all tickets, permits and ferry charges. The package, however, doesn’t include air-fare or rail-fare.
Compared to others on this list, this package isn’t as cheap – especially considering that it doesn’t include air/rail fare. However, Travel Mart India’s travel package to Sikkim will get you two nights’ stay in Gangtok and three nights’ stay in Darjeeling. The package costs Rs13,800 per person and includes stay at three-star hotels, breakfast and a vehicle to ferry you around and for sightseeing.
A trip to Leh-Ladakh will surely be one to remember. The destination is a great mix of adventure and culture. The package offered by TravelGuru costs Rs9,880 per person and is a trip for four nights and five days. The cost will cover stay at a standard hotel, breakfast and dinner, a vehicle for travelling and sightseeing as well as a permit for Pangong Lake & Khardongla.
If you truly want a budget holiday, planning one on your own is one of the best ways to go about it. Malshej Ghat is a destination that is not very popular yet offers a breathtaking view of nature and is perfect for trekking enthusiasts. The destination is located around 127 kilometres from Mumbai. You can stay at the MTDC resorts which have rooms for every budget – the price ranges from Rs1,500-Rs6,000 per night depending on the size and type of room you choose. At the higher end of the price spectrum you’ll get dormitories that can house as many as 25 people, making it perfect for a large family trip.
If a beach holiday is what you want this summer, check out Yatra.com’s list of Goa package which start from Rs6,499 per person. They do not include air/rail fare, but include meals, accommodation (type will depend on the price of the package), sight-seeing and a car for travel. The options are many and you can choose the hotel/ package which you think will suit you best. All the packages are for three nights’ stay.
