Alarm clocks under Rs1,500
Finding it hard to wake up every morning? Well then these alarms clocks will make sure that you wake up on time. And the best bit is that they won’t cost you a lot.
The alarm clock is supposed to wake you up in the morning. But most of us hit the snooze button way too liberally, beating the purpose of a wake-up call. These innovative alarm clocks make sure you jump up out of bed; they will only turn off if you complete a set of brain rousing tasks – if you don’t smash them against the wall first, that is. And they are all priced under Rs1,500.
Twist equation clock
If it is your groggy brain that needs waking up, then we recommend the twist equation clock. This cylindrical clock has two LCD displays which normally tell you the time. However, when the alarm goes off, these displays show either a ‘+’ or ‘-‘ sign; you will then have to twist the dials so that the equation makes mathematical sense. Needless to say, this clock should not be bought by those who are bad at math.
A little similar to Clocky – the alarm clock which will spin its wheels and make you chase it – this one is a little less annoying. The Flying Alarm Clock has a rotor attached to the top which will fly away at the pre-set time. You will then have to find the blades, and fit them back on the alarm clock to make it shut up. The clock comes with a back-lit LCD display making it a good bedside clock.
We both love and hate this one. Love, because the concept breeds a healthy lifestyle, and hate because… well, we love our sleep too you know. The Dumbell Clock is shaped like a dumbell and it will shut up only after you’ve done a set number of bicep curls (usually 30). There’s no other way to turn it off and you can’t cheat either as it has motion sensors.
Do you manage to hunt for your alarm and turn it off with your eyes shut? Then you need to get this laser target one. It comes with a remote that shoots a laser beam at the clock. When it goes off you need to find the clock and hit the bullseye to turn it off. For a greater challenge, place the clock in different parts of your room every night so that you don’t get accustomed to aiming a laser half in your sleep.
