Mumbai

ART
What: Screening of Breaking Mumbai & Bharatmata Ki Jai
Breaking Mumbai is about the b-boying community in Mumbai while Bharatmata Ki Jai is about the iconic Marathi cinema hall, Bharatmata in Lalbaug.

What: Raindrops Festival
Organised by Sam Ved Society for Performing Arts and Uma Dogra, the festival will feature performances by Kathak dancers Sakshi Kumar, Nandini K Mehta and K. Murali Mohan, Manipuri dancer Rinku Bhattacharya Das, Odissi dancer Ayona Bhaduri, bharatanatyam dancer Sonali Surve Gawade and Kuchipidi dancer Srilekha Jayanthi.

FILM
What: Screening of Queer Voices of Mumbai
American filmmaker Jeff Roy’s documentary amalgamates the music, dance, LBBT art and the Hijra communities of Mumbai.

What: Screening of City in the Water & Bidesia in Bambai
Charles Correa’s City in the Water is about the plan behind the creation of Mumbai and Surabhi Sharma’s 2013 feature Bidesia in Bambai is about Mumbai-based Bhojpuri pop singers and migration-themed music.

MUSIC
What: A Hindustani classical concert
A tribute to the renowned table player Shafaat Ahmed Khan and solo recitals by vocalist Aparna Kelkar and tabla superstar Zakir Hussain

What: Film festival
A festival of contemporary documentary films presenting the prestigious Walkley Award winners. The festival includes screening of nine seminal films; a discussion; and interactive sessions with two filmmakers. Organised in collaboration with the Walkley Foundation, Australia.

What: A Brand New Day – Rebuilding Uttarakhand
